• a manufacturer of home baking and crafting accessories whose sales are so strong, demand has outstripped supply. They’re building a bigger manufacturing premises to try to keep up with demand. 
• an IT consultancy who has achieved record sales and profits as companies seek greater efficiency to offset rising costs

When challenges are at their greatest, so too opportunities are the biggest. Those who thrive through this period will be well set for the times when things stabilise afterwards. Both these small businesses have a winning environment for their management, and many SMEs and independent professionals have a really good chance of getting ahead of the competition if they play their cards right through the squeeze.
